The Varlion Bourne Summum Prisma Airflow W is a teardrop-shaped racket designed for players seeking power in their game without sacrificing control.

A new version of the Airflow technology
This year, we broke new ground with a new core construction for the new AIRFLOW 2023, including the extended, circular hole system used in the Radius. This new construction, according to all the tests done with amateur and PRO players, turns the racket into a great tool for the mid to high level amateur, being a racket that really helps to get more power in all your shots.
This pro-level paddle racket features the Prisma frame, which reduces the contact point of the frame against walls and surfaces by 90%, as well as air resistance by 10%. All of this translates into better racket maneuverability and increased acceleration on shots.
A protected frame
On the other hand, we reinforced its most fragile point (the head) with an adhesive protector that fits perfectly to its shape, the Prisma protector. It covers not only the frame, but also its connection with the blade.
Details that count
Another new feature of the 2023 Collection will be the rough surface texture called Slice, which was designed and developed with a series of curved lines that make the surface of the ball catch more. In these blades, the roughness is more pronounced than in any of the blades in the Summum 2022 line.
In addition, to solve the changes that the temperature exerts on the materials of the blades, this model has been manufactured with a type of rubber: more flexible, called "W", recommended for use at low temperatures or up to 25ºC.
As its name suggests, the Bourne Summum Prisma benefits from the Summum technology in its construction, which is based on the sum of several factors:
- A longer than usual grip to provide the player with a more comfortable and professional grip, and also to make it easier for those who use both hands on backhand shots.
- A 1 cm longer hitting surface.
- And Diffuser Wings technology at the core, with an improved aerodynamic diffuser, for more maneuverability and accuracy.
More grip security
And finally, Handlesafety technology, a new grip safety system. Normally, all paddles have a centered exit hole for attaching the rope, which is fixed to the handle structure by means of a pin, rivets, nails, etc. However, with this system, the rope passes through both walls of the handle and exits on both sides of the rim, providing 100% safety and comfort in the hand.
